Skuli picked us up from the airport in a Mercedes V-class Sprinter van and we visited one of the 25 wonders of the world, the Blue Lagoon, where we enjoyed native drinks and the clay face mask experience. Skuli was not only knowledgeable and professional, but he was also kind, thoughtful, and deeply passionate about his country. I am writing to recommend Skuli Gunnarrsson, an amazing native Icelandic tour guide who made our trip to Iceland truly unforgettable. I would highly recommend this trip, it was 10 hours with an 8am pick up, and worth every penny. Kevin, brought samples of Icelandic food and drink for us all, and then dropped us off back in Reykjavik as near to our Airbnb as he could. Don’t let that put you off was beeeeaauuutiful! Then on to black beach in Vik, followed by the two waterfalls (one of which featured in Game of Thrones) Walkways to the waterfalls was again quite slippery, sheet ice in places, but I genuinely didn’t see anybody fall, so as long as you take care, and have good grip on your shoes, it shouldn’t be a problem. At times it was a bit of a struggle to find a non-slippery part of the path to walk on. It was stunning, well worth the walk, although I would suggest if you have remotely slippery shoes, buy some grips. We started with the glacier as the weather was due to turn, and he wanted us to see it without getting soaked. Thank you so much Páll from both of us, we hope we will meet again.Īn excellent day trip, our guide “Kevin” (because his real name was too hard to pronounce) was attentive, funny and made our trip even more enjoyable. He will be always part of our special day as he is in every picture, just behind the camera. When the time came, we spent 2 wonderful day with Páll and we enjoyed every minute of it, not just the pictures we received are just unique and gorgeous, but the time we spent with him was just brilliant! He answer all of our questions, showing us special places which we didn't even know they existed, he took us on Aurora hunt which became night we will never forget.Īnd to see him how excited he was to see the Northern lights after living his whole life in Iceland was just so heartwarming as you could see how much he loves his country and the work he is doing. I sent him message year prior to our wedding to ask if he would be able to take our pictures, but in the way that he would be taking pictures of beautiful nature of Iceland and us in it. When we visited Iceland for the first time in 2018, I found Páll on Facebook as my inspiration for best places and pictures of Iceland and since then the idea of wedding photos in Iceland lived in my head.
